Hi Charlene,
The communications committee has
been working hard to find an easy and effective way to streamline club
communications and produce the Nairator on a timely and consistent basis.
Welcome to the solution. Those with email address will receive the Nairator once
a week via email as an html file. Those without email will be mailed a printed
copy of the Nairator. In addition, the html version of the Nairator will be
posted to our web site at www.haverhillrotary.com for anyone to visit at any
time.
A huge thank you to Tim Coco for his expertise, guidance and years
as writer, editor, design artist and so much more in creating and distributing
the Nairator. Thanks also to Steve Goddu who is sharing a good portion of the
load to now produce the Nairator in this form. And, thanks to all on the
committee who continue to contribute to the Nairator and wrestled with the
challenges along the way.
Once again we're gearing up to begin our
literacy project with Community Action's Head Start program. It's easy. It's
fun. And, it takes only one hour of your time per month. If you'd like to read
to a Head Start classroom of 3 and 4 year olds and missed the sign-up sheet,
contact John Cuneo at Community Action.
November 30 is Foundation Day and
100% attendance day. Please make every effort to attend. If you are unable to
attend, there are plenty of opportunities to make up so you still get credit
towards our 100% attendance! Area Rotary Club meetings are listed on our web
site and on the district web site at www.rotary7930.org . Or go to
www.rotary.org and click on the links to make-up online. Also, keep in mind that
working at community meals on Monday, November 20 also counts as a make-up. In
order to raise money for the Foundation, we ask each member to kindly purchase
at least one $10.00 raffle ticket (or 3 for $20.00) to take a chance on a gift
"Basket of Cheer!" Thank you in advance for all your support!
Until next
time,
President Darlene

Natalia from Venezuela is a high
school Rotary Youth Exchange student who is studying in the United States and
living with a host family in Amesbury while attending Amesbury High
School.
The current group of four Rotary Youth Exchange students often
travels together and enjoys other group activities. Natalia is a good role model
and an example of the benefits of Rotary's international exchange programs at
all levels. The Rotary Youth Exchange Program is an all volunteer project. The
host clubs support the students and the hosts. The student stay with three
separate host families throughout their exchange
year.

Everyday is a leap of faith. So far we've had "gong free" meetings.
Where the "heck" is our bell?
The season is approaching with community
meals, the Santa Parade Betsy Conte food drive, the Rotary Foundation Day and
our club diamond raffle all on the horizon. Plus the ringing of the Salvation
Army bells!
Happy 321st Birthday to the United States Marine
Corps.
Seen at the Community Action's Fashion Show is Haverhill's "George
Bailey" modeling some very expensive duds; not a NASCAR driver's
jumpsuit!
Congratulations to Haverhill High's soccer team on reaching the
Eastern Massachusetts quarter finals.
