The Nairator

Located on the beautiful shores of Stiles Pond in Boxford, Camp Rotary has been host since RYLA's inception in 1997. The Project Adventure ropes challenge course has been a feature of every RYLA weekend. In addition to challenging physical activities, our guest speakers and meaningful workshops have brought out the best in our young participants from throughout the district. This week's speaker will be Tom Vance Rotary District 7930 RYLA coordinator.

Good to finally find a home at Evenfall. Thanks to John Cuneo for keeping everything in order the past two weeks as well as the PPP's that ran the meetings.

We have much work to do before the Rotary year ends in June. Looks to be a successful raffle on board. Thanks to Julian and team for driving. We will push the date for the auction out till May to accommodate the short gap between the raffle and give some folks time to regroup. More to come from Sheryl.

Past President Darlene is in Chile with the Rotoplast team. Whether is dry and 75 degrees.

Please consider proposing a new member to our club. Let anyone on the board know if you need assistance on how. You can always check out the Rotary International web site.

$100,000,000.00 in Piggy Banks

Dennis Sweeney helped us kick off fundraising to match a one hundred million dollar grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The foundation has donated the money to help with the final worldwide push to eradicate polio. Rotary members worldwide over the next three years are challenged to reach in their pockets and donate matching money towards one of the largest matching grants the foundation has ever made and the largest grant Rotary has ever received. Dig deep. This is what Rotary is all about.

Bill Gates, cofounder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, gives a baby the oral polio vaccine at the Shadnagar community health clinic in Andhra Pradesh, India, in 2002. "The extraordinary dedication of Rotary members has played a critical role in bringing polio to the brink of eradication," says Bill Gates, cochair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. "Eradicating polio will be one of the most significant public health accomplishments in history, and we are committed to helping reach that goal."

Membership Matters

M&M's are everywhere. How many times have you noticed these tasty treats this week in a candy dish or in the check out section of the grocery store? Stare at this picture and be reminded every time you see M&M's that membership matters. It matters to the health and well being of our club and it is time for to you propose a new member.

Who do you know that would make a great Rotarian? Invite someone to lunch. See Ira for an application and more M&M's.

Smile and Remember the Words

For those who can't remember the words:
Smile and the world smiles with you, Sing a song.
Don't be weary, Just be cheery all day long.

Seem to be more than you can really bear
