Good Morning Tim,

Haverhill High School Juniors Arianna Errina and Huy("Howie") Cao were student guests this week. Both are members of the Interact Club growing at HHS with great support and guidance from Haverhill Rotary Club member and HHS teacher Phil Brown. Arianna was recently accepted as a Rotary Exchange Student. She's waiting for her country assignment. According to Arianna, it's down to Germany (a language she has studied) and Japan. She found out about the exchange through posters Phil put up. He then recruited her for Interact. Howie plays acoustic guitar, is looking forward to graduating this spring and hopes to become a pharmacist.

Lunch speakers Beth Francis and Tracey Fuller of the Haverhill YMCA showed interesting slides and spoke about the major renovations and expansion at the Y, resulting in a doubling of membership over the last year. They also highlighted the "Y for All" annual campaign, designed to offer membership on a sliding fee scale so that no one is turned away.

This past week the Auction Committee met after last Thursday's club meeting. This year's auction will occur in May and will include a TV Auction Night and a Live Auction Night. The committee will soon announce further details, team leaders and members, so stay tuned!

Our deep sympathy to Don Laing on the death of his son Gregory H. Laing, Director of the excellent and well-known Haverhill Public Library Special Collections. Greg passed away on February 3rd, and several Club members attended a Memorial Service in his honor this past Saturday at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Newburyport.

District 7930 Softball League

We've got about half the guys we need to form a good team. See Steve Goddu or send an email to sign up for the Haverhill Rotary Club's winning team.

Ten games will be played either on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Five home and five away. The Lawrence club has used this opportunity to reel in some younger members and designated each game a meeting makeup. We could use some ringers and younger members so let's use this activity to our best advantage.

Proposed New Members

Jim Rogers - Owner of Clean Machine Car Wash located in Ward Hill
Proposed by Dale Rogers

Rabbi Ira Korinow returns from a trip to Israel with a flag from the Rotary Club of Nazareth.
