President's Message
Dear Rotarians,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Thank you, Julian, for giving us a taste of what you hope to accomplish during your term as President of Haverhill Rotary.
One major area that Julian will address is that of membership and attendance. When one enters the large room where we have lunch at Michael's Function Halls each week, one cannot help notice how much lower attendance has been, especially during the past few months. What is causing this somewhat sudden dip in attendance? Certainly it cannot be the economy because we pay for our lunches ahead of time. Is it the food? Is it my "story" each week?
This week, we will have a discussion on how we can be a better club and entice our membership to attend each weekly meeting. For this discussion, our Program Chair, Julian, is recruiting all past presidents of the club to be present and to share some thoughts on the matter. We must not forget that we are a club in which "service above self" is our guiding principle. We will, of course, welcome everybody's thoughts on the situation.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday - and don't forget: if you have a birthday in June, sit at the Birthday Table and avoid any misgivings which will end up in your giving!
Rotarily Yours,
Ira
