President's Message
Dear Rotarians,
As you know, the transition of leadership takes place officially on the last Thursday of June each year. This year, Julian Rich will take over the reins on June 24th. As you probably can tell, Julian is eager, full of energy and looks forward to his year as President. As Program Chair, he scheduled himself as the program - not to fulfill any ego but rather to get a "jump start" on his year.
Our program (really a group discussion) utilized the wisdom of our past presidents on a variety of issues. First and foremost is the issue of membership and attendance. In order to direct the club on a course for the future, it is imperative to fill out the survey that was on the tables a couple of weeks ago. If you didn't take one, Bonnie will soon be e-mailing each member a survey soon. Once the surveys are gleaned and looked through, those recommendations and ideas, combined with the suggestions of our past presidents last week, and after combed through by the Directors, the results will be shared with the general membership. Remember: Rotary is YOUR club and your input is the most important element in designing our course in the future.
As we tread the course for our club's future, we must remember that Haverhill Rotary is part of a larger community - Rotary International. I encourage you to surf through the Rotary International's website Rotary.org and see all the wonderful things that Rotary is doing to make our world a better place. If you're looking to network with other Rotarians, did you know that Rotary can be found on Linked-In, Facebook, Twitter, Flicker and You Tube? With all the possibilities out there, it's impossible to be a lonely Rotarian! You really should check these out!
I look forward, as I do every week, to seeing you on Thursday.
Rotarily Yours,
Ira
