This Week's Meeting Haverhill Country Club
September 16, 2008

This week we lunch at Haverhill Country Club. Next week we lunch at the Pentucket Bank Community Room. Starting with the publication of voting procedure and the actual listing of available choices in next week's Nairator, we will also vote for our choice of where to meet for the foreseeable future. We will vote until a majority of club members favor one site. Please make sure you vote!.
Also next week, after lunch and the speaker, I ask all representatives of non-profits to meet for no more than an hour. The topics will include our club's annual donations program and a proposal for how to structure participation in the duck race fundraiser that the Board is considering. Please make every effort to attend! Please note that I'd love for any club member who is an active board member of a non-profit to attend this meeting, even though they may not be among the paid staff. Finally, if you cannot attend, but would like to learn about the proposal and voice your opinion, please contact me ASAP.
See you Thursday,
John
Rotary Foundation Donations
For the Rotary year ended on June 30, 2008, the following generous and caring Haverhill Rotarians contributed a total of $3870.00 to the Rotary Foundation:
Bill Adams, Bill Klueber, Ron Albert, Don Laing, Dick Atwood, Ira Korinow, Buddy Baker, Sheryl Meehan, Paul Bergman, Bonnie Michaleas, Joe Cleary, Dale Rogers, Bernie Clohisy, Fred Rose, Scott Cote, Dave Shaw, John Cuneo, Ken Smith, King Davis, Ray Smith,Tom Faulkner, Greg Stark, Jr., Joan Gleed, Linda Sundell, Steve Goddu, Dave Thomas, Bud Hart, Jim Vanderpol, Joan Hull, Ellen Zappala
To all of these kind individuals - some needy folks somewhere want to say thank you, thank you, from the bottom of their hearts.
For those of you that are not listed, let's get with it and become a Rotarian instead of a member of Rotary. Your checks of any amount - $100.00 is suggested - will get you into the Haverhill Rotary Hall of Fame for the 2008-2009 year, but more importantly contribute to the well being of someone in need somewhere in this small world of ours.
Don't delay - Ken Smith, Ron Albert or John Cuneo will accept your generous check and send it on its way to help make a better world for all of us.
Thanks,
Ken Smith
Co-chair Foundation Giving
Tattersall Farm Day Sunday, September 21st Noon - 5 PM
Please don't forget to set aside a few hours or more to help the Club with this event, co-sponsored with the Tattersall Farm Trustees. Our main job is to run the refreshment booth, preparing and serving up hot dogs, burgers, sodas, chips and the like. We can also help with set up, clean up and directing parking. Last year was a very successful first year for this New England style agricultural farm day. EJ Ouellette and Crazy Maggie will again offer live music. In addition to time helping out, don't forget to set aside some time to check out the many activities, demos and displays including storytelling, winemaking, geology, hay rides, Audubon-led nature walks, swamp walkers, live animals displays, wildlife exhibits, beekeeping, raffles, farm history, art, face painting, traditional crafts and lots more.
