Your Help is Needed!

Sell, Wash, Tag, Read Below
Only 4 Days Left

This is crucial:

We have about 15 more crates of 160 ducks each to clean and tag. Can you help? Can you bring/send a group? We sure don't want to be doing this Thursday night! If you can spare some time, PLEASE email jcuneo@communityactioninc.org or call me at 978 994 2214 right away with what day, what time and how many you can bring even if it's just you! Let's get this done!

Quacky was busy this weekend, helping TEAM Haverhill sell adoptions, advising Pam on adoption data entry, haging out with young and old, getting in shape for the race at another fitness center and inspecting his balloon sibling before it started tipping over on Monday.

We've exceeded 3380 adoptions entered as of Monday night. Please keep on selling adoptions! Let's get at least to 5000 by the time we meet on Thursday for lunch! If you have any signs out or are sending out email appeals, remind all that this is the last week and waiting until Friday may mean we can't get them all entered in time for the race.

Can someone take responsibility for finding and picking up 6 large fishing nets early this week to help scoop out ducks after the race on Saturday? One suggestion was Wal-Mart. If you can, please contact me before you go to make sure someone else is not also going...

I'll have race assignments on Thursday for all. If you can't be there Thursday, but can help Saturday, please email me and let me know. I'm very worried that we will not have enough helpers.

Keep paddling! We are almost to the finish line!

President's Message

Dear Rotarians,

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend!

Remember: There is a Rotary lunch and meeting this Thursday, September 10th. It is essential that everyone attend to finish up last minute plans for this weekend's event.

Have you traveled south on Route 125 from Monument Square lately? When arriving at the lights at City Hall, you can already see the GIANT QUACKY on the roof of Pentucket Bank down the hill at Whites Corner. He is quite visible and for a good reason: our first annual Duck Regatta is just days away!

THIS IS IT! We are ready for a grand day downtown on the Merrimac!

Thanks to the hard work (which must continue through the week) of many dedicated Rotarians, we are on the verge of Haverhill Rotary's biggest fundraiser ever. It will succeed only if every Rotarian is there to help. I have even postponed the weekly Bible study class that I teach after our Saturday morning Sabbath service at the Temple.

As of this writing, Accuweather is calling for a mostly sunny Saturday with the high temperature of 71 degrees. A perfect day for a duck race!

As Joe Cleary would say, "Be there or be square!"

See you Thursday and by the Merrimack on Saturday.

Ira
